Following many years of setbacks, the airport of Vatry, which is located in the eastern French region of Champagne, was finally in a position to post freight growth again last year. The proud 8.5% increase over 2010, to 8,372 t of airfreight handled, is set to be but a taster of the greater things expected for this year. Vatry benefited from the unrest in Northern Africa and became something of an air bridge between France and several Tunisian airports for a car manufacturer early last year.
