TNT Express merger not due before 2013

The US parcel giant UPS and the Dutch CEP company TNT Express now expect their merger deal only to be completed in early 2013, rather than in the fourth quarter of 2012, as they had suggested earlier this year. UPS and TNT Express announced recently that their planned merger is subject to renewed delays, with expectations now foreseeing completion of the acquisition in Ql/2013. UPS had originally planned to complete the takeover of its Dutch competitor in Q4/2012. The corporations confirmed that the offer deadline had been extended to 9 November.
