Belarus developing a trailer train network

Belaruskaya Chyhunka (BCh), the Bela-rusian state railway, is planning to add further truck-on-train connections to the range of its intermodal offerings in 2014. The company said that up until now 57 trains carrying trailers had shuttled between Belarus and Vilnius and Kaunas (both Lithuania) in the context of its offering Nyoman (the Belarusian name for the river Neman, which flows from Belarus through Lithuania to the Baltic Sea). Specially-equipped platform wagons were deployed for the trailers and tractors.
