At the first 'Pharma Day' put on by the flag carrier Turkish Airlines Cargo in Frankfurt early in March, CCO Turhan Özen stated that by 2023 his airline wants to be "amongst the five leading airfreight firms worldwide for pharmaceuticals." The airline, passed in accordance with Iata's CEIV Pharma certification, organised another event in Barcelona in April, designed for representatives of the Spanish healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors. The cool chain offensive launched by Turkish is set to continue, too, with several events in Europe and North America, including a Canadian cold chain conference in Toronto, the sixth annual cool chain supply systems and solutions meeting in Brussels, and then a return to Frankfurt for the second global pharmaceuticals supply chain congress, which Germany's association for materials management, purchasing and logistics (BME) is staging there.
