摘要

Increased demand of power, reduced fossil fuels and environmental issues have led to the augmentation of microgrid (MG) since the last two decades. Concurrently, fuel cell (FC) has potentially proved to be a promising clean and efficient alternative power source for various applications. The integration studies of power grid network and FCs has drawn the attention of academicians and industry. Significant research work and practical implementation in this regard are being carried out by exploring the advantages of FC technology for enhancing the MG operation. However, this interfacing of the FC and MG technologies faces many technical issues which have to be dealt with robustly. Thus, this review article is an attempt for focusing on a detailed study required for applications of FCs to MG interface. Further, a comprehensive survey on FC and MG technology, its interfacing units, FCs applications to MG, issues and possible solutions are also highlighted.
