Chinese company buys up Jamaican sugar factories

China-based company, Complant International Sugar Industry Company Limited, is to acquire the remaining three Jamaican government-owned sugar factories at the end of the current sugar crop. Jamaican agriculture minister Christopher Tufton confirmed on 13 July '10 that the $9 million (€7.07m) sale of the factories and their attendant lands.
