Rivertop Renewables building commercial scale glucaric acid-derived products plant

The biotech startup Rivertop Renewables has begun construction of its first commercial plant that will produced sugar-based glucaric acid-derived products beginning in the summer of 2015. At full capacity, the plant will produce up to 10 million pounds (4536 tonnes) of product annually. The plant will be located at DanChem Technologies, Inc.'s facility in Danville, Virginia. DTI is a custom manufacturer of fine and specialty chemical products.
