摘要

The latest flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) device, known as interline power flow controller (IPFC), is the most versatile device used for controlling power flows in multiple transmission lines. When the load on the transmission line is drastically increased the power losses and voltage deviation increase in the system leading to line outages and power system network may become unstable. An algorithm for the IPFC optimal location is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm improves voltage stability under the over loaded line outage contingency in a power system network. The transmission line outages are calculated and ranked on the basis of their performance index. The proposed method is tested for IEEE-30 bus system by using MATLab software and the results are compared with SVC device for the same configuration of the network.
