Eurotunnel studies shorter trains

Eurotunnel has begun talks with the Anglo-French Intergovernmental Commission on possible changes to regulations that restrict the length of passenger trains that can operate in the Channel Tunnel.rnSpeaking at a press conference last month, Eurotunnel CEO Mr Jacques Gounon said the failure of Eurostar to quickly evacuate 2000 passengers from the tunnel on December 18 (IRJ March p16) suggests the Commission should drop its requirement for trains to be at least 375m long, and divisible into separately-functioning half-sets.
