Huawei wins Turkmenistan GSM-R contract

Jiangu Guotai, the general contractor in charge of the telecommunications upgrade project on the 590km Ashgabat - Bereket - Turkmenhbashi line in Turkmenistan has selected Huawei to supply GSM-R, SDH, and telephone systems. Huawei will provide operational voice and data services based on its GSM-R technology which is engineered using a combination of conventional GSM-R base transceiver stations (BTS) and its own distributed BTS architecture which the company says improves the flexibility of the product.
