Korean city opens automatic light metro

The first automatic light metro using Siemens' Val system opened on July 2 in the Korean city of Uijeongbu, 20km north of Seoul. Line 1, which is U-shaped and elevated, is 11km long and has 15 stations. There is an interchange with Line 1 of the Seoul metro at Hoeryone.
