World's first 4G-enabled heavy-haul railway network

China's Shuo Huang Railway (SHR) has invested $US 129.48 million in an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) upgrade to support a doubling of the tonnage hauled by each train. Bound by strict standards for implementing critical ICT infrastructure, SHR's Deputy General Manager, Cao Yanping, explains why SHR chose Huawei's 4G-eLTE solution as the framework to enhance production security and operating efficiency.
