SERVICE PROPERTIES OF POLYMERIC PACKAGING MATERIALS

In order to evaluate the service properties of polymeric protective packaging materials, and to ensure their correct selection, it is necessary to take into account both the physicomechanical characteristics and physicochemical properties of the polymers selected. This combination of properties is shown to considerably influence and broaden the possibilities of retaining the quality of the packaged product. An assessment is made of the physicomechanical characteristics of gas-selective packaging films and the physicochemical properties of selective packaging materials based on LDPE films. 13 refs.
