Applications expand for fast repetition rate fluorescence

The Chelsea Technologies Group's FASTtracka (fast repetition rate fluorimeter) provides rapid, realtime in-situ measurements of the photosynthetic characteristics of phytoplankton. When introduced to the market in 1996, applications for this new fluorimeter had been established within ocean science research. After its launch it swiftly found applications within research of the coastal zone, and it is now regularly used as an operational tool in these regions, providing valuable information on such events as algae blooms. More recently, FASTtracka has found applications in freshwater analysis - and now offers solutions for environmental monitoring, addressing the demands of the European Water Framework Directive, as well as offering solutions for 'homeland security'.
