MV-22 Tiltrotor on Way to Initial Operational Capability, Says DoD

The MV-22 Osprey has accomplished two major steps required for achievement of Initial Operational Capability (IOC), program officials announced at a press conference on April 4. According to Col. Mathew Mulhern, V-22 Osprey Joint Program Manager, and Gene Cunningham, Bell Boeing V-22 Deputy Program Manager, the MV-22 has completed a major Block B operational test period and a successful IOC Supportability Review pre-board. The Marine Corps expects to get the go-ahead in summer 2007 for operational deployment of the aircraft.
