摘要

Amy Marga has written a very readable and enjoyable book about Karl Barth, which is no mean feat. This slim volume is a revised version of her 2006 dissertation under Bruce McCormack at Princeton Theological Seminary, and its academic lineage is readily apparent in its concerns and methods. First, Marga uses Barth's five-year stint (1925-30) at the University of Munster as a window into German academic and ecumenical culture, thereby continuing McCormack's admirable efforts to contextualize Barth's theology.
