40 years ago, in 1972, Jorgen Randers - under the leadership of Dennis L. Meadows and with the authorship of Donella H. Meadows - produced what became the infamous little book called The Limits to Growth. This book shocked the prevailing belief in progress -and henceforth became a global bestseller. It was followed - in 1992 and 2004 - by two methodologically refined and statistically updated versions which, however, did not attract the same attention - the public already being accustomed to dramatic news.
