A comparison of T~2 control charts with variable sampling schemes as opposed to MEWMA chart

Variable sampling plans have been widely employed to increase the power of control charts, mainly for the univariate case. In this paper, a T~2 control chart with variable sample size and variable sampling frequency is developed. Near optimum schemes are obtained to detect faster shifts in the mean vector. A comparison with a MEWMA chart is made.
