Integrated simulation of the glass and mould in the TV panel pressing process

摘要

An integrated model of the behaviour of molten glass and mould during the pressing operation of TV panel is developed in this paper. The molten glass is modelled by an incompressible Newtonian liquid undergoing flow. And a 3D finite element method is used to perform the simulation of the fluid and heat flow, which employs an equal-order velocity-pressure interpolation method. Mould cooling system design is important and significantly affects productivity and the quality of the final part. The mould heat transfer during the TV panel pressing process is established by boundary conditions analysis. Numerical implementation is a 3D boundary element method. These two simulations are coupled by matching the temperature and heat flux at the glass-mould interface. As compared with the experimental data, the presented model and developed system are sufficiently accurate.
