The evaluation of different computer modelling approaches tailored for the needs of induction heating and induction heat treating is discussed in this article. The most popular numerical techniques, including the finite difference method, finite element analysis, the mutual impedance technique and the boundary element method and their use in developing subject-oriented software, are also discussed here.
