Submission of Brazil and Article 76 of The Law of the Sea Convention (LOSC) 1982

Brazil on 17 May 2004 became the second State to make its submission to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS) as required by Article 76 of the Law of the Sea Convention (LOSC). The Brazilian submission assumes particular significance as the first submission to the CLCS by a developing State member of the Group of 77. This article seeks to examine the Brazilian submission vis-a-vis the provisions of Article 76 of LOSC.
