Eminent scientist Russell L. Ackoff (1919-2009) is fairly considered as one of the founders ofthe Systems Science. His intellectual legacy is vast and his contributions to Systems Science have served to build its foundations and have paved the routes of problems solving for academicians as well as for practitioners. He was also a very active, creative and productive business consultant whose contributions were highly appreciated by the governmental and private organizations. The similar or even superior value, though less known, had his teaching and humanitarian activities, that were always oriented to guide carefully with kindness and willingness the new generations of systems scientists as well as to help his colleagues and friends.
