Introduction to the monograph for the Doha conference

摘要

The Vlth International Conference on Environmental Muta-gens in Human Populations (ICEMHP) was held in Doha, Qatar, March 26-29, 2012. The co-chairs of the conference were Professor William W. Au (Shantou University Medical College, China), Dr. Abdelali Haoudi (Qatar Foundation, Qatar) and Professor Wagida Anwar (Ain Shams University, Egypt). The conference secretariat was Dr. Ayman Bassil (Qatar Foundation, Qatar). Together, they worked dedicatedly for 4 years to organize the conference. The conference in Doha is the sixth in the series of conferences. The previous conferences were held in Egypt (1992), Czech Republic (1995), Thailand (1999), Brazil (2003), and Turkey (2007). Therefore, these conferences were held approximately once every four years, at about 2 years after each International Conference on Environmental Mutagens which is sponsored by the International Association of Environmental Mutagen Societies.
