Proposals sought for energy storage and distribution programme

The ETI~* has issued a Request for Proposals for organizations interested in taking part in a project to carry out a techno-economic evaluation of transportable energy storage.rnThe intention is to overcome the problem of the generation sites, such as offshore wind farms, which are not within easy reach of electricity consumers. How the energy is moved from where it is generated to where it is needed is a critical aspect of the overall energy system, the ETI says.
