Financing package takes shape for the Patrind project, Pakistan

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, announced in mid-December that it is to provide a US$ 60 million loan to South Korean-owned Star Hydro Power, to support the construction of the 147 MW Patrind hydropower project in Pakistan. The IFC described the run-of-the-river powerplant as the largest privately financed hydropower development in Pakistan.
