Poeyry has been awarded a contract by Kalehan Genc Enerji to carry out detailed design services for the 500 MW Lower Kalekoey hydropower plant and dam on the river Murat in eastern Turkey. The assignment, which is to be executed jointly with local partner Temelsu by the end of 2017, includes the execution of the detailed design for the civil engineering of the powerhouse, and structural reviews, including the RCC dam, power intake and penstocks, Piano Key Weir spillway, diversion struc- tures with two tunnels and bottom outlet, Poeyry announced on 6 June.
