FYR Macedonia invites bids for small hydro concessions

The Government of FYR Macedonia, acting through the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, has invited bids by 19 May for the development of 37 small hydropower plants in the watersheds of the Vardar, Treska, Bregalnica, Strumica and Crn Drim rivers, on a design, build, operate and transfer (DBOT) basis. Concessions for water use for electricity generation will be awarded for a period of 23 years in accordance with the Law on Waters and Law on Concessions and Public Private Partnership, according to a tender notice published on the Ministry's website on 25 February.
