Intelligent dam monitoring system ordered in the UK

The Canal and River Trust, which manages 2000 miles of canals and rivers as well as reservoirs in England and Wales, has subscribed to the iDMS tool, which was launched by Binnies (previously Black & Veatch's water businesses in Europe and Asia), and Rezatec in January this year. The manufacturers say that the tool combines Binnies' reservoir expertise and digital ecosystem services, with Rezatec's geospatial artificial intelligence techniques, to monitor critical reservoir infrastructure. The satellite-based dam monitoring system, which is being trialled by the Canal and River Trust at three of its reservoirs, is designed to provide improvements in reservoir safety, while enhancing operational efficiency, according to Rezatec.
