Accord signed for joint development of Inga III, DRC

The Inga Development and Promotion Authority (Agence pour le Developpement et la Promotion du Projet Grand Inga or ADPI-DRC) signed an agreement on 16 October with Chinese and Spanish consortia to develop the 11 GW Inga III project on the river Congo in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The exclusive development agreement establishes the terms for cooperation on the estimated US$ 14 billion project, and sets out the terms for the implementation and social and environmental studies to be financed by the consortia, according to a presidential statement.
