zon will mark two notable anniversaries in Scotland: the 250th anniversary of the birth of John Rennie (1761-1821) and the Lighting of Bell Rock Lighthouse on 1 February 1811. The construction of Bell Rock was a tremendous achievement and it seems that its celebration is likely to overshadow that of Rennie, its chief engineer, just as his role has been eclipsed by that of the resident engineer, Robert Stevenson.
