Preface

摘要

The present volume comprises selected papers that were presented orally at two international conferences held in September 2012. Following IJHFF's usual practice, authors of all papers invited for inclusion were asked to review and revise their contributions, whether to provide more detail than was possible within the strict page constraints of the conference publication or to add additional material, either in response to questions raised at the conference or to add the authors' most recent results. These extended manuscripts have then been subject to precisely the same confidential peer-review scrutiny as conventionally submitted papers. The resultant twenty-eight papers that have survived the review process provide a contemporary view of the state of research in engineering fluid mechanics and associated scalar transport.
