Ammonium oxalate is largely used to extract the trace elements bound to Mn-oxides, amorphous compounds and crystalline Fe-oxides. The objective of this work was to evaluate the selectivity and the efficiency of ammonium oxalate for extracting Cd, cu, Ni, pb and Zn by sequential extraction of soils. For this purpose, three schemes were selected and applied to three different soil samples of the Swiss Jura.
