Intelligent Tools for Mining, Aggregation, and Simulation of Multi-Source Data

This special issue describes a coherent body of theories and techniques, collectively known as intelligent decision making and simulation that have recently been developed by researchers in artificial intelligence, computational science, and engineering to process large, multisource data sets arising from scientific, engineering, and business domains. In such domains because of rapidly increasing sizes of data sets and volumes of data, it is more and more difficult for a human being to capture and understand the contents, and in particular the meaning, of these sets of data that can be used for productive purposes, notably decision making, analysis, and simulation.
