摘要

Potential theory is important in many disciplines such as mass diffusion, thermal conduction and flow in porous media. The effect of a grate or netting on the potential flux is particularly important in predicting transport through fiber composites. This difficult problem is solved by the method of domain decomposition and eigenfunction expansions which is superior to direct numerical integration. The equivalent conductivity or macroscopic property is determined for both two- and three- dimensional insulated or conducting grates.
