Wien-type monochromator applies adequate potential/current to poles to create quadrupolar magnetic/electric fields that act with those fields produced by magnetic conducting material of poles to correct aberration
Wien-type monochromator applies adequate potential/current to poles to create quadrupolar magnetic/electric fields that act with those fields produced by magnetic conducting material of poles to correct aberration
The monochromator has twelve poles made of magnetic conducting material that extend parallel to optical axis. Specific potential/current are applied to the conducting material so that magnetic/electric dipolar components satisfy Wien condition. Adequate potential/current are applied to poles to create quadrupolar magnetic/electric fields that act with those fields produced by the material to correct aberration.
