摘要

This paper deals with the relation of well-known seismic parameters and damage indices between two sets of data; a set of natural seismic signals and a set of artificial accelerograms generated from natural records. The Hilbert-Huang transform is utilized to produce the artificial spectrum-compatible earthquake time histories. Results reveal that the extracted seismic parameters of the artificial seismic accelerograms share the same degree of correlation with the damage indices as the natural seismic signals. Thus, the proposed technique can be a useful tool for generating realistic representations of seismic events.
