摘要

Air quality monitoring is a very important problem that needs efficient and real time solutions, especially in urban agglomerations, where air pollution is much higher due to densely populated zones and industrial parks that are concentrated in their vicinity. Most of the countries developed a national air quality monitoring network in order to provide more informed air pollution analysis and control. Such a network can be modeled in a natural way as a multiagent system, being geographically distributed. The paper presents a multiagent model for air quality monitoring in urban regions, and introduces a prototype multiagent system, AQ-MAS, that was developed by using the Zeus software toolkit. The AQ-MAS system provides the current status of the air quality for a specific area, and the possible impact on the human health. It was tested as a simulation with data from the national air quality monitoring network of Romania.
