摘要

The present work concerns the analysis of the thermal phenomena involved during turning operation in the orthogonal metal cutting process. An analytical modeling of the thermal phenomena in primary and secondary cutting zones was presented. It is the Komanduri and Hou's thermal model modified by Karas et al. (2013) [1], which considers real mobile heat sources moving obliquely in a semi-infinite environment and having imaginary heat sources as symmetric. We are going to present the simulation of the modified analytical model of Komanduri and Hou. First, we will show the results relative to the temperatures distributions in the workpiece and in the chip at the heat source of the primary cutting zone. Then, we will present the temperature distribution in the chip due to the heat sources of the primary and secondary shear zones under fixed machining conditions.
