In this paper a technique to calculate System Marginal Prices (SMP's) for a multi-area power system is presented. The system is modeled using capacitated arcs, sources and Sinks. The SMP's are then calculated using a Network Programming algorithm. System losses are taken into account by adjusting the energy flows inter-regional as well as intra-regional loss factors. Examples taken from the Australian National Electricity Market are presented.
