摘要

This paper presents the details of modeling of a building structure with an SMA damping element and its response to the excitation force transferred by the earth due to a pre-recorded seismic disturbance. A single-degree freedom system (SDF) is developed to study the vibration behavior of the building structure with SAIA element due to the seismic disturbances. As a first stage of analysis the damping characteristics of SMA is considered only in the non-transforming regions. A parametric study was carried out using Dubamel's integral approach and an equivalent Finite element analysis. The displacement responses of the building structure are studied for various damping ratios of practical importance.
