摘要

The high-resolution Direction-Of-Arrival (DOA) estimation is im- portant in many sensory systems such as radars, sonars, and seismic exploration. With advances in the area of VLSI, it is now possible to design special purpose hardware for DOA cstimation which is suitable for real-time sonar applications. The methods for DOA estimation for broadband sources proposed by Buckley and Griffiths and Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm for narrow- band sources proposed by Schmit have been selected for hardware implementation.
