摘要

The effects of various parameters on the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) process and coating properties have been studied using a systematic design of experiments. Powder selection, solid loading, time, and voltage had significant effects on kinetics, in agreement with established ideas. Suspension pH and solid loading had an effect on wet coating density but did not appear to increase green density. Measurements of cracking were not sufficiently accurate to draw conclusions; however, the design of experiments technique showed promise for investigating this critical factor. Many other parameters had an insignificant effect on the coatings produced, which recommends EPD as easily scalable.
