Quite often we become nonchalant about what we deem to be insignificant changes in technological advances but that can often be a result of our immersion as computer scientists in the world of IT. You may have heard the anecdote of placing a frog in a bucket of water and gradually heating it to boiling point. Apparently the frog will remain happily swimming in the water and 'boil' whereas if you take the same frog and drop him into a boiling bucket of water - he will jump out immediately. I have no idea if this is an 'accurate' fact from the world of nature but it is often used as an illustration of how we in a society can become immune to the influences surrounding us. I feel like this quite often but then I come across a gadget or read an article which reminds me of the fact that technology is moving on quite nicely.
