摘要

>Sinter is a porous mass which is charged in blast furnace for production of pig iron. However, for production of the good quality of sinter, there will be a minimum interruption in the process. In this paper, the different reasons which affect sinter production have been elaborated and the intense investigation of the root cause of such reasons by using statistical methods has been carried out. The failure mode effect and criticality analysis (FMECA) is also performed to find the critical components which adversely affect the sintering process. The results of the study help the management bodies of the company to take care for the parts inventories of that critical element, the study also helps to estimate the interruption time in advance so that the precautionary steps may be taken. This study also helps the researchers who are engaged in the working process of such industries.
