摘要

The vision of mobile and ubiquitous systems is becoming a reality thanks to the recent ad­vances in wireless communication and device miniaturization. The wide-spread industrial uptake of these systems is however compro­mised by the abrupt changes and challenging dependability requirements imposed by the highly error-prone and heterogeneous mobile provisioning environment. To overcome the intrinsic limitations of mobile devices and environments, a variety of research studies have produced supporting methods, proof-of-concept prototypes, and disciplines. However, it is still unclear whether current solutions can satisfy the challenging adaptability and dependability requirements of emerging mobile ubiquitous services, such as mobile social networks, smart urban mobility, wireless control of robots, and healthcare.
