Dana Approves Uk Babbage Field

UK-based Dana Petroleum has approved the development of the Babbage gas field in the UK southern North Sea. Dana's co-venturers, E.ON Ruhrgas (47% and operator) and Centrica (13%) have also approved the project, Dana said April 30. Dana bought a 40% stake in Babbage from Shell in 2005. The field will be developed using three wells initially, with the option to drill a further two wells after first gas, across a newly built platform. The gas will be transported to West Sole and onward to the Dimlington terminal on Humberside, Dana said.
