Norway eyes big Brazilian spend

Norwegian oil group StatoilHydro is planning to invest $5-$10 billion during the next $5-10 years mainly in the Peregrino field (BM-C-7), located in the offshore Campos Basin, Jorge Camargo, StatoilHydro country manager for Brazil, told Platts.rnThe Peregrino field, in which StatoilHydro became in December 100% owner of the field after it purchased Anadarko Petroleum Company's 50% interest for a net $1.4 billion, is located 85km off the coast of the state of Espirito Santo and Rio de Janeiro. Apart from gas reserves, it holds an estimated 300-600 million barrels of oil. Production is seen starting in 2010-11.
