PetroChina is moving ahead with plans to expand its Dagang underground gas storage cluster near Tianjin in northern China, the company said last month. A proposal to add 1 billion cubic meters of working storage to Dagang's existing 2 Bcrn of operational capacity has received internal approval and would enter the construction phase, said PetroChina.rnThe expansion would be carried out in two phases each of 500 million cubic meters, with the two new facilities to be sited at Bannan and Tangjiahe. Dagang is China's first underground gas storage cluster. The first Dagang facility entered operations in year 2000 and all six were completed in 2006.
