Indonesia awards CBM blocks

The Indonesian government has awarded BP and Total coalbed methane exploration blocks. The government will receive a signature bonus of $8.3 million and the investors who won the tender have committed to spend $29.6 million during the first of three years of exploration, oil and gas director general at the energy ministry Evita Legowo told Platts. The consortium of UK major BP and local company Transasia Resources was awarded the Kapuas I, II and III blocks in Kalimantan, while French major Total won the Kutai Timur block in Kalimantan.
