Italy mulls Eni, Enel disposals

Italy is mulling the sale of the state's share in listed companies such as gas giant Eni and utility Enel. According to the reports, the so-called "Amato-Bassanini plan" to tackle the country's public debt - currently €1.936 trillion, according to a report by Citigroup - envisages a new round of privatization that might include the sellout of state's shares in Enel, Eni, Finmeccanica and local utilities such as Hera, A2A, Iren and ACEA, as well as the sale of real estate.
